The International Gynecologic Cancer Society was founded in 1986 as an equal partnership of gynecologic oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists and basic scientists, committed to the field of gynecologic cancer. Since that time, the Society has evolved into an organization of over 1400 physicians from all corners of the globe. The IGCS offers its members the unique opportunity to establish enduring personal and professional relationships while promoting mutual professional and organizational development to improve womens health.

Membership in the Society provides an opportunity to develop personal relationships and professional networks at a global level. These result in a growing community of gyn cancer experts who share information, research strategies and ideas that begin to impact women's health worldwide.

Committee Participation

Take part in eight different committees which contribute to moving forward the agenda of the Society. Align yourself according to your interests and talents. Participation ranges from serving on the Education and Scientific Program Committees to being elected to serve on the Nomination and Finance Committees. Committee assignments are made biennially by the Chairperson and each Chairperson, appointed by the President with concurrence of Council, serves a term of four years.

Participation in Specialised Programs

Join members interested in volunteering time to assist others sharing technology and treatment of women with gynecologic cancer where resources are limited. Cancer of the cervix is the number one gynecologic cancer worldwide. Eighty per cent of the cases exist in developing countries and 80 ome in with advanced disease. Meet the challenge of this disease by associating with colleagues from other parts of the world to provide these women with the advantage of your expertise and treatment skills. You can make a major contribution by participating in this program.

International Focus

Become a part of the growing community of gynecologic oncologists across the globe. The IGCS is the only professional organization that brings together experts in the field of gynecologic cancer from throughout the world. It is the first time that you and your colleagues are united in a community of scientific and clinical experts whose purpose is to improve the outcomes by improving treatment of gynecologic cancer. It is the only organization that provides a broad global opportunity.

Given the size and scale of the gyn cancer community worldwide, the IGCS is the most important organization that you might belong to.
