Dr. Fernando Gorosito and Adriana Bermudez (Gynecology Oncology Unit, Buenos Aires University Hospital) represented IGCS at the “World Congress in Gynecologic and Breast Cancer” that was held in Toluca from 28-30 May 2008, a large city close to Mexico City.

The other invited speakers were Santiago Dexeus (Spain), Michael Campion (Australia), Eric Leblanc (France), Pedro Ramirez (USA). There were simultaneous symposia for Gynecologic Oncology, Breast Cancer and Colposcopy.

The Gynecologic Oncology Symposium spanned two days, and included the following sessions:

  • Laparoscopic staging in cervical cancer (Bermudez)
  • Chemotherapy in cervical cancer (Bermudez)
  • Introduction to IGCS (Bermudez)
  • Pelvic anatomy for laparoscopic surgery (Gorosito)
  • Uterine sarcomas (Gorosito)
  • Role of CA 125 in ovarian cancer (Gorosito)
  • Borderline ovarian tumors (Gorosito)

As you can see, this was an ambitious educational program. Attendees were very enthusiastic about becoming IGCS new members.
