The XVI Annual Conference of The Association of Gynaecologic Oncologists of India (AGOICON) was held 16-18 November, 2007 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India.

More than 350 physicians, nurses, and support staff participated in 3 full days of demonstrations, expert panels, and lectures during the XVI AGOICON meeting in Madurai, India.

The meeting was organized by the Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre in collaboration with the Madurai Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society (MOGS) and AGOI. Local sponsors included Drs S Padma (Organizing Secretary, AGOICON 07), Revathy Janakiram (President, MOGS), VN Rajasekaran (President, Organizing Committee AGOICON 07), Uma K Devi (General Secretary, AGOI), Ava Desai (President, AGOI), and Kasturi Lal (Chairman, AGOI).

The meeting was also supported by a grant from IGCS, and international speakers included Drs Peter A Heintz (Utrecht Netherlands; Founding Member and Past President, IGCS); Shashikanth Lele (Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, NY, USA; IGCS Member), John Kavanagh (MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, USA; IGCS Member; Editor, IJGC), and Michael A Bookman (Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia, PA, USA; IGCS Member and Director, Office of Educational Resources).
