IGCS Mission

Uniting the Globe in the Fight Against Gynecologic Cancer

The International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS) is a not for profit independent organization contributing to the prevention, treatment and study of gynecologic cancer, as well as improvement in the quality of life among women suffering from gynecologic cancer throughout the world.

	The People IGCS consists of individual Members (physicians, nurses, scientists) with a professional interest in prevention, treatment, or study of gynecologic cancer. IGCS strives for global representation, reflecting the diverse cultural, economic, and geographic impact of gynecologic cancer. Elected Officials and Council serve the needs of the Membership.
	The Means
	IGCS collaborates with other organizations to: Develop and maintain multidisciplinary curricula for education and training Promote evidence-based clinical guidelines Facilitate local adoption of guidelines in diverse regions and settings IGCS shares knowledge with public health organizations and officials to achieve: Greater public awareness of risk factors, screening, prevention, and treatment More attention regarding the magnitude and impact of gynecologic cancer IGCS facilitates education and training among medical professionals through: Sponsorship of regional and international meetings Publication of the official journal of the Society (IJGC) Development of on-line educational resources Travel Grants, Educational Grants, and a Traveling Scholars Program
